Belgian Print Blitz

Sorry for the recent lack in posts from the three of us in Belgium. We have been jamming thru the editions that we were wanting to do and have started some additional prints to make use of the time and facilities. The completed number of editions so far is 9. Hell Yeah! Tomorrow the three of us head to Brussels for a day trip, hoping to see the Death of Marat, the cafe were the Communist Manifesto was started by Marx and Engel, as well as another huge Belgian comicbook store. Tally hoe!

Ornate wooden sheep's head @ the Rubens house.
Ornate wooden satyr head on a door at the Rubens house
Steve and Jason with Neptune.
Me and Venus... she couldn't help but stare at my beard. Now that I mention it, the three of us caught a lot of people looking at us and we think it was due to our beards. And a lot of people think that we were in a band.
Some bone marrow.
and Frog Legs
Antwerp at night... 11 pm.
The night ended after walking most of the city seeing comic stores, artwork, cathedrals, statues, and sampling the local liquids.
Antwerp City Hall and the Antwerp Fountain.
the Bearded What in the depths of an underground restaurant.

A castle near the river in Antwerp.

This is a statue of a giant showing off to some normal people.
Getting closer...

This is us eating what the stand calls "probably the best waffles." We think they ARE the best and so does Ivan.

The first comic book store that we went to. It was a visual overload which was great!

Antwerp Cathedral is absolutely stunning!

The Dark Room - yep, what screen printing residency is complete without dappling in the dark arts...
Coated screens ready to be dried in the smoker (not really)
The screen printing facilities at Frans Masereel - I'm lovin' it!
The screens - center Amalgamation and flanking it is two of Steve's Gangster Superheroes.

The view from our A-Frame this afternoon. Started exposing our screens for our first 4 editions. A beautiful day to be working!

After a morning drizzle this snail ventured out on the front porch of our A-Frame.

This is our home for the next three weeks. More pics of the interior to follow.

Here is Steve, pumped to be heading to the screen printing studio, with Jason following behind like the famous Sasquatch video

Pondering the decision to go into the screen lab.

We ultimately made the decision to start work our first day... screen number one for print number one.

The evening ended with some potato and leek soup, crusty bread, and the planning of more editions to be made.

Bikes & Groceries

So we each get these sweet bikes to use in town. Needless to say we filled the saddle bags full of 72 worth of meat, veggies and beer.

Some of the essentials that we picked up.
